I am a woman in my mid-thirties suffering from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and various other useless names that people seem to create for it rather than finding a cure. The symptoms manifest for me as a constant headache, continual tiredness/exhaustion for no reason, concentration and memory difficulties, sensitivity to sensory information (such as loud or continual noise, bright lights etc) muscle weakness, fibromyalgic pain and general flu symptoms. Often this leaves me consigned to a wheelchair or my bed.
However, on most reasonable to good days, I enjoy playing World of Warcraft. I find this a good way to challenge myself mentally and to be able to interact with friends socially without too much physical activity. I do have to organise my play time around rest periods, and have arranged the user interface of the game to do as much as possible with the smallest amount of physical movement. For those that are interested in that sort of thing, I mainly play Swanhild, a Dwarf Discipline Priest on the EU-Argent Dawn server, or can be found hanging about the Consortium forums as “Wenchie”
